FCSN Visions of Community Annual Conference –
The Federation for Children with Special Needs,
Family TIES, Parents for Residential Reform, Parents’ PLACE, Massachusetts
Families Organizing for Change and the Early Intervention Parent Leadership
Project are co-sponsoring this event. This conference will take place on
Saturday, March 10th from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM at the World Trade Center in
Boston. It is a conference for parents and professionals who work to enhance
educational, mental health, health, and family support services for children
with disabilities. The Keynote speaker will be Dr. David Rose who is a
co-founder of the Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST) and a pioneer
in the field of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). In addition there will
be 30+ workshops on hot topics like parent participation, early childhood,
health, transition, disability issues, recreation opportunities, NCLB, IDEA.
Workshops are available in Spanish and Portuguese. There will also be many
vendors, exhibitors and parent organizations with materials for viewing and
sale. Registration is $55/person before Feb. 16th and $70/person after that.
The last day for registration is March 2nd if space is still available.
