Using Language to Build Social Skills in the Workplace: December 6th & 7th. Adults with AS, high-functioning autism, non-verbal learning disabilities and language-learning disabilities are often in need of services to increase their skills in social communication or pragmatic language so they can succeed in the workplace setting. This two-day workshop, presented by Elsa Abele, is geared for adults with AS and professionals, such as employment specialists, rehab counselors and job coaches. The workshop will cover how to explicitly teach adults these skills as well as assist adults wishing to learn these skills and who are seeking employment or hoping to maintain or upgrade their present employment. This event will take place Dec. 6th & 7th from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm at the Espousal Retreat Center in Waltham. The fee is $265 for AANE members and $300 for non-members.
