Adolescent Psychology: The Parent Version
– The Lincoln-Sudbury Parent Organization is sponsoring a presentation by
Joani Geltman, LICSW on Dec. 5th at 7:00 PM in the Lincoln-Sudbury
Auditorium. Joani Geltman, an expert in teen-parent relationships, will
speak on the physical, cognitive, and social-emotional changes that occur in
adolescence and how these changes affect relationships with parents and
friends as well as school life. Learn about your teen’s imaginary audience
and personal fable. Learn how to teen proof your home. Learn how to set
appropriate limits so your teen will want to follow them. Develop effective
tools for identifying and dealing with your teen’s experimentation with sex,
drugs and alcohol. Learn to identify risk factors for teen depression and
anxiety. Learn about high expectations vs. realistic ones and the
consequences for your teen’s emotional well being.
