Bullying and Aspergers Syndrome: What Can We Do About It? March 2nd, 2008. This is a workshop for teens and young adults with Aspergers Syndrome with Nick Dubin (friends and family are welcome). Bullying is a serious problem for people with Asperger Syndrome (AS). Many of the more common characteristics of AS-such as poor understanding of both verbal and nonverbal social cues and rules, atypical behaviors, impaired theory of mind, and preoccupation with unusual subjects-can make these individuals easy targets. Statistically, the vast majority of children and adults with AS will experience bullying in their lives. This event will take place from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Newton Community Services Center, 492 Waltham Street in West Newton, MA. For more information or to register for this event go to www.aane.org.
