Transition Planning Workshop Series for Parents of Teens: January 17th.
Transition Planning 101 for Teens with Aspergers - Terri McLaughlin from the
Federation for Children with Special Needs will present this workshop from 7:00
- 9:30 pm on Jan. 17th at AANE located at 85 Main Street, Suite 101, in
Watertown. Terri will discuss transition planning - deciding how best to use the
high school years in order to ensure that your teen emerges at graduation as
well prepared as possible to lead a fulfilling, independent life. This is a
complex process crammed into a very short window of opportunity. Transition
goals and services should be written into the IEP (Individualized Education
Plan) when a student is 15 years old, so Team discussions should begin at age
14. Terri's expertise can help you and your son or daughter make the best use of
the time and resources available. To register call Stephanie at (617) 393-3824
or send e-mail to Stephanie.Loo@aane.org.
