Nashoba SPED PAC features Dr. Michael Wood

On Wednesday, January 16th  at 7:15 pm, Dr. Michael Wood, Superintendent of Schools, will discuss the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 for the Rehabilitation Act and the roles parents, teachers, students, and administrators play in the delivery of accommodations to meet the needs of students who qualify for services. The presentation to the Nashoba SpED PAC (Nashoba School District Special Education Advisory Committee) at Nashoba Regional HS in the “ASC.” This presentation may be of particular interest to parents of students for whom an IEP may no longer be appropriate. Accommodations under 504 are applicable for anyone with a disability and extend throughout life, after high school graduation, into the work force or college and independent living. All those interested in the topic are welcome to attend.

The SpED PAC meets monthly through May. Meetings include presentations on a variety of subjects and provide a forum for interaction with other parents, professionals and community members who have experience with children with special needs.  Dates and topics for the remainder of the year are listed posted on the NRSD website district calendar, the NRSD SPEDPAC page and the  SpEDPAC site: www.geocities.com/nashobaspedpac.
