Conference for Families of School Age Children who are Visually Impaired, Blind, Blind Multi-Handicapped or Deaf & Blind Ages 6-22 - This conference is presented by the Perkins School for the Blind, the National Association for Parents of Children with Visual Impairments, the New England Center DeafBlind Project and in cooperation with the MA Dept. of Education. Presentation topics include: financial planning for special needs children, communication strategies for the visually impaired, assistive technology, navigating the IEP process, transition planning, independent daily living skills, and the impact of hearing loss on learning. The cost is $20/person and the registration deadline is Oct. 1st. The conference will go from 8:15 AM - 3:30 PM on Saturday, Oct. 20th, 2007. It will be held on the campus of the Perkins School for the Blind located at 175 Beacon Street in Watertown, MA.
