Harvard Conference on Autism Spectrum Disorders: From Childhood through Adulthood - This course is offered through the Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education as an update on the latest research findings and clinical applications in the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. As a result of attending this course, participants will be able to identify what is known about the biology and genetics fo ASK and define different treatment modalities. They will be able to differentiate how Autism, Asperger Syndrome, and related disorders impact different age groups and different family members. They will be able to identify factors contributing to resiliency in patients; medications that work and don't work; examples of best practices; and risk factors associated with the spectrum. The central themes are treatment, education and advocacy. Material will be presented through lectures, case studies and discussions. This conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Boston at Downtown Crossing from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Friday, Nov. 2nd and 8:45 AM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 3rd.
