When to Worry
About Worry and What to Do About It –
A child’s
worry is infectious, and caregivers are particularly vulnerable.
When a child is worried, almost always a parent or a teacher is
worrying about that child’s worry. And often a large measure of a
caregiver’s worry is sparked by uncertainty about how to help. On
Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m.
at the
RJ Grey Junior
High School Library
in
Acton,
Dr
John Anderson Jr.
will provide attendees with information about the biological basis
of worry, the difference between worry and anxiety, and various
treatment options. A follow-up discussion on anxiety in children
(without Dr Anderson) will take place on Friday, June 1 at 9:30 a.m.
in room 131 of the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School.
Dr. Inger
Maier,
well-known local psychologist and author of children's books, will
also participate in the discussion and offer a book signing. This
lecture is sponsored by the Parent Support Group for Children with
Challenges. For more information contact either Lynn Armstrong at
