BSEA Information re: Mediations & Hearings
The Bureau of Special Education Appeals will conduct information sessions
designed particularly for non-lawyers, including both parents and school
district personnel. The information presented will address process more than
the law.
Anyone may attend and there is no charge for the sessions. The first
session will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006. Subsequent sessions
will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, March 28, 2007, and May 23,
2007. All sessions will cover the same information. Each session will
consist of one mediator and one hearing officer, introduced by the Director
or Assistant Director of the BSEA. The mediator will discuss the nature of
mediations; the hearing officer will discuss the nature of due process
hearings. There will be time for questions. The sessions will be held
at 350 Main Street, Malden, MA at the Department of Education, in
Conference Room 203, on the 2nd Floor, from 10 a.m.
1 p.m. Coffee and refreshments will
be provided. If you wish to attend the session in November, please email
